Photographing people has always been hard for me, as I am quite shy. I am also not interested in the invasive methods of street photography.
I have developed my own approach to the human subject. I always put people into a bigger context, at a distance that will not alter their current state of emotions or movement.
I often trigger my camera from my my hip, as this does not identify me as a photographer working and trying to find subjects.
I don’t do close-ups or headshots, except when I am photographing my family. I don’t like to portray strong emotions. I find my subjects indifference extraordinary and this is what I seek when I photograph people.
